PCS Announces the Addition of Tyco Electronics M/A-COM Product Line

DENVER, CO (December 10, 2008) — Portable Computer Systems, Inc. (PCS), a leading reseller of mobile data applications and wireless products, is pleased to announce the addition of the M/A-COM product line from Tyco Electronics to its broad offerings of mobile information solutions. Tyco Electronics is a leading seller of electronics in the United States. M/A-COM, one of Tyco’s subdivisions, specializes in radio products.
PCS will be primarily selling mobile and portable radios to public safety and utilities companies; in addition, they will also sell infrastructure equipment from M/A-COM to support the radio units. PCS is a Tyco Authorized Service Center and provides service and support for the radios and their corresponding infrastructure.
Additionally, PCS offers 24-hour support for these same products at the customer’s site. Although M/A-COM equipment is a new product line for Portable Computer Systems, this is not a new market for the company, having been in the mobile communication field for 15 years. “This is an additional service to facilitate our customers’ needs in one location,” said Tom Knapp, Senior Radio Technician and Branch Services Supervisor at PCS.

PCS is currently focusing their radio sales and services in the Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico regions. Two new employees have been recently hired to assist with and expand the radio offerings. Tom Knapp, Senior Radio Technician and Branch Services Supervisor, is a Tyco Certified Systems Technician and is responsible for radio services, sales support of radios, project management and maintenance contracts for the radios. Mike Borrego, Senior Radio Consultant and Radio Services Systems Associate, was hired to provide sales support on radio infrastructure, consulting on long range and infrastructure planning, developing systems for delivering radio services and assisting with assessment of radio products for Portable Computer Systems to offer.
